1-3/4" OAL Here is my long promised
5-shot, 2mm, pinfire, pepperbox. I've had the cast frames for over a
year, but have waited to release this model until I figured out how
to index the barrel. After several designs, I went for the
simplest approach and use the screw-on barrel lock to hold the barrel in
place.
The
frame, bar hammer and ring trigger are all nickle plated cast
brass. The barrel, which is removed for loading, is steel,
which I plumb-brown to give it a nice antique look. So far I've
only made this gun with Ironwood grips. This is a hard wood from
the deserts of Arizona, which has a tight grain and takes
an excellent high polish. I can also make this gun with any of
the other grip materials found on my other guns, but the ironwood
with the plumb-brown barrel contrasts nicely with the nickel frame and
makes for a beautiful mini.
